Clinical Psychology PsyD Los Angeles

A PRACTITIONER MODEL

The APA-accredited* Clinical Psychology PsyD at the Los Angeles campus of Alliant International University prepares professionals who can deliver or facilitate the delivery of psychological services to diverse populations. Students benefit from a mentoring model firmly integrated with the academic experience.

TOP TRAINING IN AN UNMATCHABLE MULTICULTURAL SETTING

We enjoy a national reputation for excellence in multiculturally relevant education and training. Multicultural perspectives are integrated through required, core and elective courses. The rich diversity of the Los Angeles area offers a wealth of clinical placements.

GAIN REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE IMMEDIATELY

Field placements start in the first year, so students can start applying research and theory from the beginning. Practica continue in the second year, along with formal research courses in statistics and research and test design.

Students pursue a full-time internship in the fourth year, and also have the option to pursue half-time internships in the fourth and fifth years. A doctoral project is conducted in the third year.

SPECIAL LOS ANGELES PROGRAM FEATURES AND REQUIREMENTS

Emphasis Areas: Applicants to the PsyD program are required to specify one of four emphasis options. 

  • Clinical Health Psychology (CH)
  • Family and Couple Emphasis (FACE)
  • Multicultural Community-Clinical Psychology (MCCP)
  • Multi-interest Option (MIO)

The CSPP Los Angeles Clinical Psychology PsyD program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association (APA), which requires that we provide data on time to completion, program costs, internships, attrition and licensure.
